Eight Belles
Eight Bells from Rosses Point, are Ireland’s foremost all-female shanty group. They have performed at international shanty festivals in Holland, England, Aland Islands (Finland) & Ireland. They sing about lost loves, waiting for homecomings, a variety of sailors and what the women do when their men are at sea! Their singing is unique and colourful, bringing a refreshing female slant to the shanty scene. Eight bells is a nautical term to signify the start or end of a watch on board ship.
Folk On The Dock was shortlisted in the Liverpool City Region Tourism awards for “Large Tourism Event of The Year”
